4 stars Both tracks of this single were recorded in Edmonton, Canada, in 18th November 1971, by Procol Harum accompanied by the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and The Da Camera Singers, and originally for their "Procol Harum Live" album which was released in April 1972. This single was a hit for the band, reaching number 22 in the U.K. and number 16 in the U.S. "Conquistador" was previously recorded in the studio for their first album in 1967 titled "Procol Harum", and "Luskus Delph" was previously recorded in the studio for their firth album in 1971 titled "Broken Barricades". Both tracks benefited very well by very good orchestral arrangements done by Gary Brooker. "Conquistador" even has some "spanish music" trumpet arrangements, played in a similar way like the ones employed in bullfights. "Luskus Delph" didn`t appear in the original releases of the L.P. and C.D. versions of their "Procol Harum Live" album, but was included years later in another C.D. edition of that album as a bonus track. This song has an arrangement more based in a classical music style. Despite only having a brief time to rehearse with the orchestra and chorus, the band played a very good concert which was very well recorded and mixed to be released on their "Procol Harum Live" album.
