3 stars Those who enjoy sinking their teeth into challenging musical escapades have an album to consider getting with this debut by French artist Olivier Feuillerat and his first Projekt.

His musical foundation seems to be in jazz or fusion, elements characteristic of both these closely related stylistic expressions are evident in most excursions. But in addition Olivier is found of adding spacey textures to his creations - in particular in the opening passages - and he's equally fond of utilizing both disharmonies, dissonances and arhythmic passages. The former two pretty prevalent and used with a subtle finesse, the latter not as often encountered and not quite as subtly either.

Guitar antics of the clean as well as distorted variety is something of a red thread in most songs here, but there's room for some piano, keyboards or synth dominated affairs too.

One to seek out if challenging and somewhat eclectic music of the fusion variety sounds like your kind of thing.
