SPECIAL COLLABORATOR Honorary Collaborator
5 stars France based act Myster Mobius have produced a stunning album with this initial effort. At least for those with an interest in fairly complex and challenging instrumental art rock.

Coming across as a band situated in between Ozric Tentacles and Spaced Out as far as main musical expression goes, with liberal amounts of post rock and post metal tossed into the proceedings, the nine tracks that make up this disc are a joy to experience. Creative, innovative and dynamic compositions are served up, featuring freely flowing constructions constantly evolving and shifting in pace and intensity but also staying put repeating dominant musical motifs time and again. And while the guitar provides most of the dominant variation at hand, the extremely tight rhythm section does a fair bit more than just providing a steady, energetic sophisticated backdrop as well. Those who enjoy discovering subtle details should have a field day listening to the bass guitar for instance, and the samples utilized throughout adds another dimension with a sophisticated and often subtle approach as well.

Eclectic in nature and creative in expression, Myster Mobius have provided fans of instrumental art rock with a true gem here, time will have to tell if they manage to reach their audience with this endeavour. For what it's worth, this act gets my highest recommendations.
