2 stars This is a greatly abbreviated version of the same live 1974 set which was released as The 1999 Party back in 1997. Back in 2006, there may perhaps have been some slight point to this release since the original 1999 Party set was out of print. However, in 2015 The 1999 Party was reissued as part of the boxed set This Is Your Captain Speaking... Your Captain Is Dead, a fine compilation of material from Hawkwind between 1970 and 1974 (including all their studio albums from the debut to Hall of the Mountain Grill, plus Space Ritual, plus the 1999 Party, plus the full Greasy Truckers set). So with 1997's 1999 Party from 1974 available again post-2015, 2006's 1974 live recording extracted from the 1999 Party no longer really has much of a point to it. Clear?
