3 stars T.A.O are from Poland and they release so far a single album in 2006 named The Abnormal Observations. Yes indeed this is abnormal kind of prog metal with jazz fusion leanings here and there. They remind me of Shaolin Death Squad in manner of composing. Musicaly speaking they are ok, yet nothing really groundbreaking, at least for me, opening track Shruti is more then ok, is easy to see that they know to handle the instruments, the third track Se ma nei is absolutly a total crap, the voice gets me on my nerves, really, I don't like at all. The rest of the pieces are ok, like the ending track Hereabouts more mid tempo with nice intresting guitar parts.. So, this album is good but not really an awesome work, anyway the voice in the most melodic parts really is beautiful and reminds me in places in tone of singing with the singer from Gentle Giant. 3 stars for this unknown album and band, not bad but to diverse and experimantal for my taste to give an upper star
