T.A.O. biography
T.A.O. is a polish progressive metal band formed in October 2003 by guitarist and vocalist Adam JUREWICZ and drummer Robert SZTORC. New musicians were invited to join the band and the band finally settled into their formation with keyboardist Kamil URBANSKI and bassist Lukasz ADAMCZYK which meant that they ware ready to begin the work on their debut album.

The recording of their debut album took place in February 2005 in "Nieustraszeni Łowcy Dzwiekow" studio with Darek GRELA as their sound engineer. After four months of writing and recording T.A.O. finished their first independent record and started to promote the album.

In August 2005 the album was played on Progressive Rock radio program "Night Of Music Landscapes" hosted by Piotr KOSINSKI on Polish radio "Channel 3". The album was then sent to several record labels for further distribution and ended up at the Unicorn Digital office. T.A.O. signed a deal with Unicorn Digital and released "The Abnormal Observations" in summer of 2006.

The band's music is the mixture of different styles that will appeal to fans of progressive metal.

3 stars T.A.O are from Poland and they release so far a single album in 2006 named The Abnormal Observations. Yes indeed this is abnormal kind of prog metal with jazz fusion leanings here and there. They remind me of Shaolin Death Squad in manner of composing. Musicaly speaking they are ok, yet nothing really groundbreaking, at least for me, opening track Shruti is more then ok, is easy to see that they know to handle the instruments, the third track Se ma nei is absolutly a total crap, the voice gets me on my nerves, really, I don't like at all. The rest of the pieces are ok, like the ending track Hereabouts more mid tempo with nice intresting guitar parts.. So, this album is good but not really an awesome work, anyway the voice in the most melodic parts really is beautiful and reminds me in places in tone of singing with the singer from Gentle Giant. 3 stars for this unknown album and band, not bad but to diverse and experimantal for my taste to give an upper star
Thanks to Rune2000 for the artist addition.
