Melvin's Nosehair biography
Melvin's Nosehair is a new band from Zwolle, Overijssel, Netherlands formed by Joe Dukstra (Keyboards), Tom Drexhage (Bass), Tom Luchies (Guitars and vocals). Bertjan Hobbelin (Drums) and the lead singer Mark Volne).

In 2010 they released their debut called "A Kid Named Sean" where they combine brilliantly the Symphonic sound (somehow reminscent of GENESIS specially in the keyboards), with a heavy Prog atmosphere that reminds of URIAH HEEP due to the agressive Hammond and guitars.

Despite the quality of their first release, the band has apparently vanished, even in their website we can't fiond information about their current situation, so we can only wait hoping for a new release.

3 stars Melvin's Nosehair - this overlooked band from Holland released only one album in 2010 named A kid named Sean, then vanishid without a trace, no information available about their status so far. Anyway if you like Spock's Beard type of prog, or some symphonic/neo bands from Holland from past decade then sure Melvin's Nosehair will be a nice surprise. There are some nice keyboards and guitars going on retro direction on this long piece - divided in 14 smaller ones clocking around only 35 min. The instrumental parts are more then ok, nothing is spectacular or never heard before arrangements, but as a whole is a good release. Maybe in some sections the vocals are only ok and nothing more. All in all a decent album, worth investigated, but I do not find the excellent moments as other listners found on this unnoticed album.
