C biography
Tommy (drums) and Pepe (bass) started the band in 1999, but after a few months they decided they had to add a guitar player, so they asked Patrik to join them. These three are also members of another Tbor band, WAAWE. They began to experiment with ideas in the studio and in the beginning of 2001 they recorded their first cd ep DEP (Minority records 10). The ep was mastered by Mr. Rainer Heesch in Liverpool.

They call the style of music they play compost rock but they don't focus on any one musical style. Essentially, compost is the pile of musical styles they mix in their music, everything from hard core to dub,from psychedelia to pop. In October 2001 C went on a one month European tour with friends from Tabor Deverova Chyba. During the tour they realized they need a keyboard player, so they asked the bass player from Deverova Chyba, Tomske. He fit perfectly into the band and since that time he is the fourth member of C.

The band played numerous shows in the Czech Republic thorough following years (the band is still active as of 2010) and some outside this country. During August 2003 the band recorded a new album UNIVERSUM (Free Dimension Records 06) at the new Free Dimension studio located at CESTA, which was mixed and mastered by Ondra JeOn November 26th their new album UNDERLOVE is out on SILVER ROCKET Records.

============

The music on C's first album, Universum, is an eclectic mix of a predominant noisy raw guitar and more subdued spacey synth sounds, arranged in progressions disciplined enough to reference early math rock like DON CABALLERO but also with enough creative freedom to evoke classic prog (to which it also hints in the track titles). The atmospheres are usually dark, reminding of Turkish Eclectic band REPLIKAS (minus the ethnic tunes), with occasional bright moments like the vibraphone hinting towards TORTOISE. Overall, the music can be shortly described as post-grunge sound and progressive songwriting.

The second album, Underlove, shows a creatively mature ensemble and definitive shift towards modern math-rock with its intricacies and its more polished sound. A characteristic trait that remains from the previous album is the synth sound, now explicitly used to create space rock / post rock musical landscapes, with original results.

An Eclectic musical affair for sure, with Math Rock, Post Rock and Space Rock elements, the music of C is an excellent indicator of the state of the indie progressive s...

— First review of this album —
5 stars I buy this album after a punk rock/ hardcore concert with some bans from Czech Republic. I like their music but I want something more appropriated to listen at home, so they give me this album. I enjoyed this album a lot from the first listen, in that period I don't now what was post- rock or math-rock, so it sound totally new and fresh for me. Why this album is so great? Well, first because it never gives you time to relax, to enjoy in tranquility the music and finally probably to get snuffy. Also is very melodic and pleasant to listen, so the combination of rhythm diversity, great melodic arrangement's and some consistency and direction in music, make this album a masterpiece of math/post rock music.
