Secondskin biography
SECONDSKIN is experimental progressive metal band founded in Glasgow, Scotland around 2000. The band has existed in various different forms from their beginnings to now, before settling on a steady lineup and band name around 2005. The band's most constant and current lineup is vocalist and guitarist Ian MCCALL, guitarist Sandy WILSOM, drummer and vocalist Mark ELLIOT, and bassist Ali WALKER. The band's 10 year history culminated with the release of their debut album Captive Audience, originally published independently but re-released on Union Black Records in 2010.
The band's music is a fusion of elements of modern metal and classic 70s progressive rock, with diverse influences from PINK FLOYD, PORCUPINE TREE, MESHUGGAH, and OCEANSIZE. The band has had the opportunity to play shows and tour with such diverse acts as CULT OF LUNA, PINEAPPLE THIEF, and SHELS.
