Mothership Oracle biography
An idea to found a UK space rock entities MOTHERSHIP ORACLE (aka ORACLE in their early days) had gradually proceeded since the frontman Mike "Pony" HEWETSON came across Alex PETROSINO from Milan in 1996. Soon after starting jam sessions, Mike and Alex realized their potentiality for creating their space rock soundscape leaning toward Hawkwind or Ozric Tentacles, and came to a decision together to write / produce / record material and release an album in October 1998. Their first album "Segreto Del Cosmos" was release in 1999 but sadly it was tough call for them to sell their space rock saucer to the music market drenched in pop / rock scene.

ORACLE had kept active as a studio-based jam-session project since their debut, and another milestone came up to them at the turn of the century. John TARELLA (from Milan) joined as a new guitarist and wrote new material for them, whilst they produced their second shot "Horizons" in 2000. In the same year, they'd got more active for launching their third album "Tides Of Eternity", with the collaboration of new members - Mike "Smoke" EYEARS and Vicky "Tori" COLTHUP. Surprisingly, they appeared on stage for the first time in September 2001, carrying lots of Hawkwind songs and some of their original ones.

In April 2002, Martin "Golly" CLAYTON joined ORACLE as a full-time guitarist who has solidified ORACLE's lineup. They aggressively gigged and recorded (some stuffs have not been released) although Alex left ORACLE in 2003. Their first live album "Live Oracles 2006" features Hawkwind's classic masterpiece "Silver Machine" upon two gigs ... they had more and more frequently played on stage in late 2000s.

In 2009, for their 10th anniversary, after releasing a DVD featuring many ORACLE classics, they recorded / produced a new album "Fantastic Voyage", released in November 2009. Upon building their MySpace page up, they changed their project name into MOTHERSHIP ORACLE finally. MOTHERSHIP ORACLE had been launching their dazzling space rock stardusts, quite inspired by Hawkwind, Ozric Tentacles, Steve Hackett, Steve Hillage, Marillion, Genesis, Yes, ELP, Pink Floyd, The Enid, Greenslade, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, or Black Sabbath, according to their comments ... they've been hibernating since 2010 regretfully.
