Thought Machine biography
Canadian band THOUGHT MACHINE was formed back in 2007, initially consisting of Brett Waye (vocals, bass, synths), Scott Maclean (guitars), Rob Rushton (drums) and Marc Langille (guitars). A few alterations did occur in the early days of the band, with Rushton leaving due to creative differences, replaced by Adam Wedgewood, before this foursome could hone in on the territory they wanted to explore. Thought Machine made their debut in 2010 with "Maiden Voyage". Since then they have performed live on regular occasions. Other obligations have since resulted in the band now being in hiatus.

4 stars Thought Machine make an excellent debut for a (hopefully) long music career!

I applaud the group for actually making a modern progressive ROCK album. So many modern groups have been making purely Prog music, or Progressive Metal, that the Rock side has kind of faded away! Not to say those bands or their music are bad, it's just nice to see a real prog rock album surface in the modern age!

The group bring the whole expected package, and deliver it well. Multi-layered guitars, intricate bass playing (including a great deal of bass chords!) fun drumming matching the odd time, a full swath of keyboards and sound effects all topped by higher range vocals with fantasy lyrics.

It sounds so vanilla typing it out, but the thing that sells it is they have all the typical parts done really, really, well. They're just a damn good prog rock band! The comparison that comes to mind is the Foo Fighters. What do they do that's "special"? Nothing in particular, they just deliver high quality, good music.

Very impressed with these young Canadians, I eagerly await their next release.
