Might Could biography
MIGHT COULD consists of Andy TILLOSTON, Tim MCCASKEY, and Aaron GELLER on acoustic guitar, and Luis NASSER on acoustic bass. For over a decade, they have created instrumental progressive music featuring a wide range of styles and tightly interlocking guitar parts.

The band formed at the University of Maryland and has now mostly relocated to Chicago. They've released three albums: All Intertwined (2005), Wood Knot (2007), and the brand new Relics from the Wasteland (2013). Listeners may hear progressive rock, classical, metal, jazz, and video game music influences in all three albums. Might Could's newest release features their most collaborative songwriting to date, more percussion, two of their favorite covers, and even a little gypsy jazz.

The Chicago band members (Luis, Andy, and Tim) also perform with the original progressive rock band SONUS UMBRA, who has just released the new album Winter Soulstice (2013).

Relics From the Wasteland
Might Could Crossover Prog

— First review of this album —
4 stars US foursome MIGHT COULD started out as a duo back in 2000, and released an initial demo back in 2002. One year later the current line-up was established, and in 2005 their first full length album appeared. "Relics from the Wasteland" is their third CD, and was self released by the band in 2013.

"Relics from the Wasteland", alongside the other albums by Might Could, is a production that will appeal to a select audience, namely those who find the notion of an instrumental album with songs performed by three acoustic guitars and a bass guitar intriguing. While those generally not fond of this kind of music may also be intrigued by this rather clever production, the stated audience will be the core one for this band and album, and a crowd that should find this to be a highly compelling one too.

Wood Knot
Might Could Crossover Prog

— First review of this album —
4 stars Originally a duo formed in Maryland, USA, in the year 2000, MIGHT COULD has since 2003 been a quartet consisting of three guitar players and one bass player. Over the last few years the members of the band have become more spread out geographically, but still manage to produce music collectively. "Wood Knot" is the band's third album.

"Wood Knot" is a release for a select audience; an entire album of instrumental, acoustic guitar-based music isn't likely to have a wide appeal. But those into this kind of music should find this album enjoyable, and fans of progressive, be it rock or metal, might want to check this one out if they want to get more familiar with how their favorite music is structured and composed.
