2 stars Crusade is another album of droning emptiness that moves or progresses in no direction at all. After listening to a few great Phrozenlight releases, it's a real bummer that I have to come to this.

The drones aren't ear-piercing and loud like they have been on some releases, but they are stagnant and troublesome. It sounds like watching the air carry a particle of dust across a room, and that is the limit of the atmospheric enjoyment I personally get from this. But it definitely is soothing. I didn't find this album completely unenjoyable, because the soothing ambience does make me feel relaxed, but I can't say that's a enough for me to recommend this to anyone besides lovers of droning ambience with no particular color. If you want to hear great Phrozenlight, check out some of the earlier releases.

2 stars Reading about this Phrozenlight release I thought it was worse. I must admit that ther isn't enough stuff to write a 100 words review about it, anyway. It's a usual space drone without a start and without an end, something that may go ahead forever without arriving anywhere, but in the same time it's not disturbing. If you are wishing to daydream about wondering in the deep space in a solitary spaceship, this is ideal. Nothing to do with crusades, battles or heroes, despite the album title, just a spacey soundscape. The fact that, as stated in the title, the second track is the first reverted and remixed can give the idea: I can't appreciate the difference. The third track is a bit different as it contains oohs and is less harmonic in terms of chords so that it's not as relaxing as the prevoius two. It seems that something is about to happen, even if nothing happens at all.

The title of the last track is very appropriate instead. "Waiting for the End" is quite a joke. Effectively after about one hour or drones this may be the listener's feeling.

Jokes apart, this is not too bad, if you want a soundtrack for daydreaming.
