Oops missed that - not enough interest here unfortunately to get on the list that is already jammed up.

This Heat  - Deceit  Masterpiece album from the 80's. Oh well, too late now. LOL
Great job on this list though. Thumbs Up

Hey, nice idea. I like the original 1001 Albums book (and the 1001 Books, although I disagree with the list there). Good to make a prog version. You're already at 3/4, I see. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the kind words!

So far it has been relatively easy but I just hit a major snag and have too many to add from the 2000-2011 selection - dang it! What a great problem to have. Now I am in the process of culling off so many great albums - oh well, it will still be a terrific list to work from I believe.

Actually I just realised it will work if I leave out 2011 totally.

I wonder if that's a good idea though....

Considering that 2011 has only just finished, I think it is, lets the albums from this past year soak in a bit before we try to stack them up against past albums.  Plus, you can go back to it in a year and get rid of the unecessaray albums to add in the 2011 albums.Wink

Okay that's it for now!
Plenty of space for masterpieces from 2011 and 2012 to add later and bring the number up to 1001.

Might add some info on each album later and edit all the posts.

Cheers!

^For an essential band, I've never heard of them!

Overall a very good list. Obviously I'll disagree with some, as will everyone, but I feel that not including any Isis albums is a terrible mistake, Panoptican and/or Wavering Radient in particular are glaring omissions from the list. And most of the live albums could be done away with as well, unless they really do add something different.
