Ok, I these guys have some blues in them but give them a listen I think they're worthy of discussion.

First album:

The rock group Mr Albert Show from Eindhoven was formed in 1969 by Bertus Borgers (saxophone, flute and vocals), Roeland Boogaart (on drums), Tom Fautubun (on bass guitar), guitarist Eric Lintermans and Bonki Bongaerts (organ). The band was named after a roadie. In 1970 their first single, Wild sensation / King of galaxy is released. The vocals on this track are by Floortje Klomp. This is followed by their self titled debut album. The sound of this album is a sort of jazzy progressive music with the focus on the saxophone and the organ. A year later they release a second album, Warm Motor. To promote this album, the non-album track Show me your tongue is released as a second single. In 1973 Bonki Bongaerts leaves the band, and this means the end the Mr Albert Show. Bertus Borgers starts a new band Sweet d'Buster, together with Robert Jan Stips of Supersister and is very active as a studio musician.

Great find, and definitely prog. They could fit in either Crossover or Eclectic... I'll notify the Crossover Team and see what happens.

I have their "warm motor" album,it's energetic and  cool.but damn, it is the one of hardest albums to be categorized in a particular prog subgenre.the music is time to time RIO\Avant ,Prog folk ,heavy prog,Eclectic and even symphonic prog sometimes.you may consider it Blues but why don't we call it Crossover prog and be done with it!?
the main thing is, it's definitely Progressive Rock.

(Note: I haven't listened to it.)
Isn't Eclectic, by definition, for bands that don't fit in to one category?  Perhaps I'm wrong.  But I hate to see bands labeled Crossover (a.k.a. "almost prog") when they can be placed elsewhere.

Crossover is definitely a cool category, I have many favourite bands there (and also, many other bands from other categories have occasionaly produced crossover prog albums that I love).

IMO the differences between Eclectic and Crossover are:
1.Eclectic prog is totally progressive rock as it's expected from its name but in crossover prog some songs may not fit with progressive rock definitions.(i heard some of  'em alternative rock! or even progressive metal)

2.For eclectic prog we have great references like King Crimson, VDGG, GG to compare the music with their works but man you can't have even a valid reference to practice your music knowledge in crossover prog field(i don't feel most crossover bands in PA to be even prog except Mike Oldfield and a few other crossover prog bands)

Some may find this "genre obsession!" but hey, it will help us find more favorite albums in our music journey.Geek

Hmmm, so the greater majority of these artists isn't prog, eh? I'll have to congratulate with your for so deeply exploring this subgenre, as I know I couldn't say anything with the same level of assuredness for this rather vast assembly of artists ;-)

I said some songs.(those two were the very little aspects of the differences between those subgenres that I had in mind at the time, all in addition to what PA says about them)

Still I believe Xover is not a good path to expand progressive rock IMHO.Ouch

p.s I don't have much information in this field anyway :|
